Alhamdulillah, by sheer mercy of Allah SWT, Muslim Youth of Long Island, in a cross community collaboration, presents it’s 3rd Annual Youth event. The theme of this year’s event is “Muslim Youth & Contemporary issues”. Just as previous programs, this program Insha Allah will also be geared towards identifying issues that Muslim Youth faces today, and by way of discussion, coming up with practical lasting solutions Insha Allah.

We pray and hope from Allah SWT for the acceptance of this program; May this program become a catalyst for a positive change; an inspiration for both the youth and adults alike to take an active role in developing stronger Muslim communities.

Overnight Itikaf for Brothers:

Masjid would remain open for brothers who would want to do overnight Itikaf.
Note: Please bring your blanket & a sheet of cloth to spread underneath if you intend to stay overnight

The purpose of this program is multi-fold:

Youth Focus:

Establishing an open communication with youth has never been so important as it is today. The challenges they face today are very unique. Through this program we are hoping to achieve the following:

1 – Connect with our youth, discuss and address issues generally not discussed
2 – Encourage them to discuss these non traditional issues with Ulama Kiram
3 – Educate them with knowledge that boosts their confidence in being a Muslim in America
4 – In break-out sessions, empower them to discuss and propose solutions to these issues

Parents & Professionals Focus:

This program is as important for the parents and professionals as it is for the youth..May Allah SWT reward those who came before us. Not only did they think of safe-guarding their own Iman, but they made concern for the Ummah. Despite lack of knowledge and resources, Allah SWT inspired them to establish Masajid around the US. Now it’s our turn to put our abilities and efforts together to further their efforts by establishing institutions and developing framework conducive to Islamic community; A foot-print that our next generations would be able to further develop upon.

1 – Create an awareness among adults of our youth’s contemporary issues and their severity
2 – Identify the source: Damaging role of Public Schools, Media, Playgrounds and Lack of Islamic knowledge, on our youth’s Islamic Identity
3 – How to remedy these on both short term & long term basis
4 – In break-out sessions, discuss and propose solutions to these issues
5 – Further establish institutions and develop framework conducive to Islamic community

Parking Arrangements:

Sisters Parking:

There is separate arrangement for the sisters in the Masjid Basement. They will use the stairs under the Mihrab, located in the North Parking Lot (facing the Meat Store & Restaurant) for entrance and exit. The north parking lot will be dedicated for the Sisters only.
